Journey to Jericho
Stress Management
for Better Emotional HealthBeing emotionally and mentally healthy doesn’t mean never going through bad times. We all go through disappointments, loss, and change. And while these are normal parts of life, they can still cause sadness, anxiety, and stress. Like physical health, the more time and energy you invest in your emotional health, the stronger you will be.
The good news is there are things that you can do to boost your mood, build resilience and get more enjoyment out of life. Exercise and good nutrition are a few of the things you can do. Earn ONE MILE PER DAY by making healthy stress-reducing choices.
Start by selecting a goal that is right for you. Try one or two of
the goals below or create your own. For each of the goals you complete, you earn ONE MILE PER DAY.
- Connect with a friend for at least 20 minutes
- Do something new
- Take a stretch break
- Listen to music that lifts your mood
- Place flowers where you will see them
- Get 15 minutes of sunlight
- Massage your hands and feet
- Challenge your creativity: draw, knit, crochet, quilt, writing, woodworking, or play a musical instrument
- Exercise your brain: do a puzzle, take a class, explore a new hobby
- Volunteer
- Laugh: rent a comedy, borrow a joke book from the library
