All Saints Community Garden
All Saints allows a portion of its grounds for a 72 plot community garden. The garden plots are 10' X 20' and are open to the community on a first come, first served basis. Those involved with our ministry and those who were good gardeners in the past receive top priority in the spring. Water and tilling are provided. There is no fee for plots, however donations are greatly appreciated. Produce is often shared and leftovers are donated to food pantries. Our Garden Team manages this particular ministry.
If you are interested in obtaining a plot this year, please contact the church office ([email protected]). Your name will be added to the waitlist. Plots are generally assigned in March, though occasionally a plot may open up mid-season.

GREETINGS GARDENERS!
DONATION POLICY. There is no charge for gardening at All Saints. Supplies, tools, replacement hoses, and other costs of maintaining the garden are funded through donations, which are completely voluntary.
If you wish to make a donation you can do so the following ways:
- Drop off a check at the church during business hours (Wednesdays, noon - 5:00 pm) and indicate on the check that it is a garden donation.
- Mail a donation to All Saints Lutheran Church, 2951 Chapel Valley Rd, Fitchburg, WI 53711, attn: Heather. Please ensure your name and address are on the check or envelope.
- Make an online donation by clicking on the 'Giving' tab located at the top of this page.
GARDEN TOOLS. We are building up a nice collection of garden tools, all of which are contained in the tool shed and are available to everyone. Donations of usable garden tools are always welcome. And just as a reminder, if you use tools please make sure you clean them before returning them to the shed.
LEAVE A FOOT. Given the large number of gardeners and the tight-packing of the individual plots, the Garden Team is asking you to plant no closer than one foot from the edges of your plot in order to allow space for your neighbors' crops to grow.
FREE HERBS AND ASPARAGUS. Every year we maintain two herb gardens and an asparagus plot in the three raised beds east of the main garden. In years past, John Marshall has overseen these areas. Please contact John at [email protected] or 298-7007 before harvesting the herbs or asparagus (unless you receive notice of their availability). Also, feel free to contact John if you have herb seeds you would like to contribute.
FILL BARRELS. Everyone who has a garden plot depends on water in the fill barrels. And they depend on volunteers to keep the barrels filled. Our water source is a spigot near the garden, which connects to the church's water supply from the city. We are always looking for volunteers to fill the barrels. If you notice the barrels going dry please contact the All Saints Community Garden Team for guidance.
Although there is no charge for garden plots, All Saints Lutheran Church gladly accepts donations to defray the costs of water, compost and other materials. Donations are accepted in person, by mail or online by clicking the 'Giving' tab.
