All Saints Community Garden: All Saints allows a portion of its grounds for a 72 plot community garden. The garden plots are 10' X 20' and are open to the community on a first come, first served basis. There is no fee for plots, however donations are greatly appreciated. Good Neighbors Personal Essentials Pantry (GNPEP): This new service opportunity is a project of Arbor Covenant, All Saints Lutheran, Fitchburg Christian Fellowship, and Memorial United Church of Christ and is a part of the PEPartnership Alliance. The pantry is located at Arbor Covenant Church, 2509 McDivitt Rd., Madison, and provides much needed supplies to families from toothbrushes to toilet paper. Volunteer tasks vary from greeting guests, computer check-in, and running to fill orders from the supply closet. Training is provided on the day you volunteer. Current hours are Friday, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. & 3rd Thursdays from 5:30-7:30 pm. Volunteers are perhaps the greatest asset of Lutheran Disaster Response. Lutherans have become well-known in the disaster response community as the experts in long-term disaster recovery. Lutheran World Relief Boxcar Loading: Volunteers help load railroad boxcars with quilts, school and health kits assembled by Lutheran congregations in southern Wisconsin destined for distribution through Lutheran World Relief. This event held in September takes place at the rail yards at 1890 E. Johnson St., Madison, and is coordinated by the Madison Area Jail Ministry (MAJM).
